Boat Parade: July 4 at 1 PM
The Canobie Lake Protective Association will continue its long-standing tradition of holding a boat parade at 1:00 PM on the 4th of July. The parade will start at “Rocky Point” and proceed around the lake, returning to Rocky Point. Judges in kayaks will observe the boats along the parade route. Prizes (first, second and third place) will be awarded for patriotic decorations of the boats. The Association thanks its generous sponsor, Canobie Lake Park. All sizes and types of boats are welcome. The parade will be led by the first place prize winner in the 2012 parade, the Forrence family.
Shoreline observers are encouraged to wave and cheer from the shore. A good public vantage point is the pumping station on North Policy Road in Salem.
If the weather is threatening and we need to postpone the parade, we will announce it here on this website. Check www.canobielake.org. As always, be safe.
